Finally getting my feet wet with another oil painting this summer. Again, this one will be a gift for my mom. I am using a photograph from a fellow deviant artist, Mossel. Here is the piece:

I have not (yet?) received permission to post the picture on deviantart but so far I have created the grid on the canvas and sketched out the picture. I plan on putting down the burnt sienna wash tomorrow. Then I will put down the base layer of black and white. Let's hope all goes well. ^^
